The voucher funds must first be applied to tuition, with any remaining balance allocated to other educational expenses, such as learning support or educational testing services. Unfortunately, since most K-12 private school tuition exceeds $7,700 annually, the new law is unlikely to significantly alleviate the financial burden of private educational support services for parents. Nonetheless, it substantially reduces out-of-pocket tuition costs for families with children enrolled in participating Florida private schools.
Additionally, the law introduced a new educational option called the “personalized education program,” which resembles homeschooling but comes with specific funding conditions, including attendance requirements and the completion of an annual student learning plan.
